H2O Café – Ft. Lauderdale Beach

This wonderful terrace restaurant on Ft. Lauderdale’s beachfront had a very inviting terrace that pulled Alicia and I right off of A1A. Located just south of the Ritz Carlton property, H2O Café offers a very nice selection of hot and cold appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches, pastas and risottos, fowl, seafood, and steak selection. Breakfast is served until 11:30.

Our host Keith was gracious and sat us down very rapidly at the table of our choice, and waiter Rob had our drink order taken and out to the table within just a couple minutes. Current capacity is at about 50% and the service is still at top notch.

Alicia’s Teriaki Infused Chicken Sandwich, accompanied by a mixed green salad was a nice sized lunch. Although the salad was delicious, the chicken came a little dry. The sandwich was also way too stacked and slightly unstable. Overall she gave the dish 6 out of 10. The wilted pickle on the plate lost H2O Café the 7 score; the heavily worn dish-ware was also a turnoff.

My Pesce Costa Brava included sautéed snapper with clams, New Zealand muscles, and shrimp, all in light, fresh tomato sauce. The presentation was decent, but the littleneck clams were too small and dry, and the muscles not too far off… The snapper was very good, and the sauce worked quite well with the dish. Overall, I gave it a 7.

Would I dine here again? Perhaps for a quick personal bite, but not with an important client.

Enjoy!
